A native New Jerseyan, Rebecca began a yoga practice back in 2003, by stumbling into a hot yoga studio on a cold New Years Day. After those first 90 minutes, she knew that yoga was something she needed more of in her life.
Rebecca considers herself lucky to have found teachers who connect the spiritual with the physical planes within their teachings. In 2006, she obtained her 200 Hour certification with Shiva Rea in Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Vinyasa spoke directly to her nature, as it is both rooted in tradition, yet open to freedom in any given moment. Her love of this practice has led her to study with many great senior teachers from all around. In 2016, Rebecca obtained an additional training in Rocket Yoga, a progressive Ashtanga sequence as offered by Larry Schultz.
As a multifaceted science, yoga includes meditation; which is a limb many of us Westerners forgo. Meditation is another practice, which helps the practitioner to find peace and stillness within mind as well as body. Through her teaching Rebecca hopes to impart the wisdom and peace that these practices have given her. She encourages all students to find their teacher within, and to follow that voice with respect and care. All are welcome along this journey. Namaste.
Outside of yoga, Rebecca enjoys reading, cooking, cycling, and exploring LA as a care-free human. She is passionate about helping Women of Color continue to create a life full of self care and self love.
