WOCHR is a 100 % plant based/ vegan retreat. Animal by products will not be allowed on the property or within the retreat (this includes leather, any animal skin etc ). If a participant brings any animal by products on the property or within the retreat, unfortunately the participant will be asked to leave the property and the retreat immediately.
Telephones
Telephones will not be allowed during meal time. All guest within the retreat must leave their telephones in their room during all meals. We also recommend putting on vacation responders and telling people at home that you are going away for a week to focus on yourself, this will allow you to be fully immersed with the retreat, we want you to come present and ready to practice self care.
Creatures of the Jungle
Although Costa Rica and Jamaica may appear developed it is very much where the jungle meets the sea. Bugs, sloths, and monkeys, have their home throughout the jungle. Participants are asked to practice (ahimsa) non-violence with the creatures of the jungle. We prefer to keep the creatures alive. If you are afraid of a bug, we suggest remembering that the bug is probably just as scared as you ;-)
Community
There is a zero tolerance hate policy for any offensive verbal comment related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or other personal life style choices. If this behavior is detected, we will handle it accordingly: participants will be asked to stop any hateful or disrespectful behavior immediately. If the negative behavior persists, the organizers and participants of the space will take appropriate action such as mediation or asking the offender to leave.
**Please do not feel burdened to bring this behavior to our attention. We want to maintain a positive and healing energy for the duration of our retreat, and to do that we depend on the honesty of our teachers and participants. **

All participants must be present at all meal times.
Personal Responsibility
We ask that participants practice personal responsibility by showing up for themselves. Participants should be sure to show up to all activities on time. If you are late to an activity, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation to the activity. If you are late for a workshop or yoga/ meditation class, you may not be permitted within the class, this depends on the class.
Advertising at a retreat
Generally speaking, clothing that has words on it, (graphic tees etc) will not be permitted within the retreat.
Advertising and promoting brands and companies outside will not be permitted during anytime. This extends to passing out flyers, wearing tee shirts, bracelets etc that advertise a brand and all forms of promotion and advertising. Participants should not wear any brands or logo that show the name or logo of the company, for example nike, addidas etc this includes small companies as well. If the logo does not show it can be worn at the retreat. If you are interested in promoting an outside brand, you must seek written permission prior to arriving at the retreat.
Lastly, Life in the jungle
Life in the jungle is unpredictable. The weather changes at the drop of a hat. Google never provides the accurate weather for Costa Rica or Jamaica, its typically sunny throughout the day, and sometimes it may rain at night. Cleaning ants may decide to sweep through your living room floor or a cockroach decides to land on your fruit. Costa Rica and Jamaica arenot k nown for being particularly efficient in any processes. Lines move slow. People might operate on “beach time” and be late or you feel they are unreliable. We are in a different country so we ask that you leave any united states expectations at home, and be open to a new experience!
We look forward to practicing self-care with you!!
