Today! Women of Color Healing Retreats will be hosting a Black Women & Sustainability Workshop with special host Dominique Drakeford. We will also have a guided meditation to center and heal.
Dominique Drakeford is a Sustainable Style Ambassador. Dominique is a non-traditional environmental educator with a BA in Business Environmental Management and a Master's Degree from NYU in Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Fashion. Dominique works at the intersections of sustainability and style to heal our relationship to the Earth and spark equitable change for economic wellbeing. Dominique is the founder of Melaninass and the co-founder of Sustainable Brooklyn. She has been featured in Elle Magazine, Teen Vogue, BoF, The Cut, Fashionista, Essence, and more.

This workshop will intertwine sustainability and style to heal our relationship to the Earth and spark equitable change for economic wellbeing. You'll learn how to shop for healthier products in your everyday life, sustainable style, and the importance of healing through environmental wellness, a topic that is vital for black people.
1) Historical systems of land-use/ agriculture
2) Equity in sustainable fashion
3) Ways to live more sustainably in your daily lives
4) Sustainability literacy and black liberation
5) Community building
💻 Please bring a journal/pad to take notes, a pen, and find a quiet place in your home for our group meditation.
